Fission® is a software-based solution designed by broadcasters to provide a fully automated operation by delivering a natural and comprehensive adaptable workflow for any cable system or television station regardless of their size or complexity. Fission is seamless, tapeless and cost-effective.

Fission Modules

Fission's highly cost effective modular design helps broadcasters simplify and improve the existing workflow. Management control, unlimited expandability and the confidence of a frame accurate consistent transmission will no longer be out of reach.

Plus, you can share resources on a daily basis using standard off the shelf hardware configured precisely to fit your needs. The same networking and storage infrastructure can be used among different operational areas. This simplifies current processes, future expansion, overall connectivity and media exchange for your entire broadcast entity while increasing profitability.

Fission comes in the following modules: Insertion, Capture, Feed Capture, and Management.

Insertion Module

Fission's playout module can work based on either internally generated logs, using built-in scheduling tools, or by importing 3rd party traffic system logs. An intuitive graphic interface enables the operator to reschedule events on the fly by easily searching and accessing media for last minute changes. Trim editing tools provide the precision required for visually adjusting the length of such media even while On Air.

Capture Module

Based on the information contained on a daily log, this module highlights automatically the capture tasks required for completing the material needed for transmission on a given day. Content catalogs provide the necessary information for fully automating the ingest process, by creating accurate batch capture lists. Last minute manual captures can be fine tuned with the aid of built-in NLE tools.

Feed Capture

As the basis of Fission's tapeless operation, this module automates prescheduled, unique or periodic, extended media captures. Every event added from any Feed Capture Module is available to all other stations for assignment. All file capturing and tape recording activities are thoroughly logged for future reports.
It is possible to create virtual segments, from either captured media or recorded tapes, and link them to existing content profiles for future broadcast. This process can be done with the aid of an external shuttle device to increase accuracy and speed over extended media captures.

Management Module

Either by importing a 3rd party traffic system log file or by manually adding any type of content into the database, this multi-channel management module constitutes the starting point of Fission's workflow. All the information and profiles associated with the transmission content is handled by this module, as well as the transmission reports, media maintenance and user management operations.
